Andras Necz Earns Big Sky Men's Tennis Player of the Week Honors After Leading Cats to Comeback Win Over Grizzlies

MSU grad transfer sparks Bobcat comeback
Andras Necz sparked the Bobcat men's tennis team to a dramatic 4-3 come-from-behind win over the University of Montana Sunday, and on Tuesday the Big Sky Conference named him its Player of the Week.
With the Bobcats at the brink of elimination, down 3-1 in the match after UM picked up the doubles point and wins at the top two ladder spots, Necz fell 6-3 in the first set on court three to Fernando Perez. He responded with a 6-2 win in set two, then broke serve early in set three and earned a 6-3 win. That victory keyed three straight wins by the Cats at the lower ladder spots to capture the rivalry win. Necz and Max Relic trailed 6-5 at No. 1 doubles when that match was abandoned.
It was Necz's first Big Sky weekly honor.
