Relic swept through UC Riverside and Seattle in MSU's season-opening weekend...
BOZEMAN, Montana – Montana State men's tennis player Max Relic parlayed a perfect weekend into Big Sky Conference Player of the Week honors, the league announced Wednesday.
A sophomore from London, Relic won both his singles matches and both his doubles matches without dropping a set as Montana State opened its season with wins over UC Riverside and Seattle. Playing at the No. 1 singles spot Relic topped UC Riverside's Joshua Roth 6-2, 6-1 on Friday, then beat Seattle's Julian Worn 6-4, 6-4 on Sunday. Even changing doubles partners didn't slow him down. He teamed with Andras Necz to win 6-4 over Roth and Justin Lamy at No. 1 doubles on Friday, then joined Andre Stewart to down Veselin Kiselkov and Jun Sasagawa of Seattle 6-4 on Sunday.
Relic and the Bobcats return to action on January 27 in a home doubleheader against Whitworth.
