Bobcats Tune Up for Big Sky Championships at Bobcat Desert Classic

MSU hosts event in Goodyear, Arizona, on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday
BOZEMAN, Montana – Montana State tunes up for the Big Sky Conference Women's Golf Championships by hosting the Bobcat Desert Classic Sunday through Tuesday at the Golf Club of Estrella in Goodyear, Arizona.
The 11-team field includes eight of the Big Sky's 10 teams, along with Rocky Mountain College. Grand Canyon University and Utah Tech also compete. "We have a good field and I'm anxious to see how our players compete as a team and as individuals," said MSU head coach Brittany Basye.
The Bobcat lineup features Lauren Greeny, Kameryn Basye, Scarlet Weidig Velasquez, Maddie Montoya and Jordan Briggs. Lauren Basye will compete as an individual.
"We're excited to be hosting this tournament, and to get back into a competitive mode," Basye said. "We need to bounce back and have a good tournament before heading into conference week. We need to get our focus back and bring it 100% each day. This tournament format is 18 holes for three days, as is conference."
Sunday's and Monday's rounds begin at 10 am, while Tuesday's closing round begins at 7:30 am.
