Montana State competes in three separate meets, starting with the Bryan Clay Invitational hosted by Azusa Pacific on Thursday.
– The collegiate track and field world descends on southern California this weekend in the greater Los Angeles area. Montana State competes in three separate meets, starting with the Bryan Clay Invitational hosted by Azusa Pacific on Thursday. MSU also sees action in two meets hosted by Long Beach State, Thursday – Saturday.
MSU's distance crew including Camila Noe, Ben Perrin, Matthew Richtman, and Alex Moore open weekend racing with the 10k event on Thursday night. The Bobcats' distance and sprints squads compete at APU, while the jumps and throws contingents battle at the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate at Jack Rose Track on Thursday, before moving on to The Beach Invite, Friday and Saturday.
Aside from the running of Thursday's 10k, highlighting the weekend will be Duncan Hamilton and Levi Taylor in the 1500 and 5000-meter races at the Bryan Clay Invitational. This year's Bryan Clay meet is the largest in history with over 600 racers signed-up at 1500-meters and 400 at 5000-meters.
Bobcat head coach Lyle Weese has seen his program challenged by weather this spring and is ready for MSU to post solid efforts across the board. "We are likely to have some significant performances and possible school records," Weese said.
