Andras Necz, Max Relic head to San Diego for fall championships
BOZEMAN, Montana – Montana State's men's tennis team heads to Colorado this weekend to play in the Denver Hidden Duals beginning Friday, which is also the day a pair of Bobcats got good news.
The doubles team of Andras Necz and Max Relic earned an invitation to this year's ITA National Fall Championships at the Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego, from Nov. 1-5. The duo plays for the Bobcats in Denver this weekend before traveling to San Diego to play as an alternate team at the ITA meet.
"We are looking to continue the momentum from last weekend into Hidden Duals," MSU coach Rob Bareford said. "I'm looking forward to playing great competition and getting better overall. And we're super excited for this opportunity for Andras and Max next week. This is a great opportunity for them."
The Bobcats face players from the University of Denver on Friday in a format similar to conventional dual meets except with only individual matches scored. Team scoring does not exist in the fall. The Cats square off with Air Force on Saturday, and Gonzaga on Sunday. Action is scheduled to begin at 10:30 am each day, but weather may force changes.
If Necz and Relic gain entry into the ITA competition due to injury cancelations play begins on Monday.
