Bobcat Men's Tennis Team Picked Sixth by League Coaches, Open Season Friday at Home Against Air Force

Veteran MSU men's squad opens 2022 season at home
BOZEMAN, Montana – Big Sky Conference coaches picked Montana State to finish sixth in the league's 2022 season based on a vote of its coaches, the conference announced.
The league's coaches tabbed Northern Arizona first, followed by Sacramento State, Montana, Idaho State, and Idaho. Weber State, Portland State and Eastern Washington were chosen to finish behind the Bobcats. Six of the league's coaches picked NAU to win, while Sacramento State snared the other three first-place votes.
The Bobcats finished fourth in the North Division during the truncated 2021 season, with a 1-3 league record and a 4-9 overall mark. Trey Morris' Bobcats return seven of the top eight players from last season, including Bradley Buckland (2nd Team All-Big Sky, team-best 8-5 singles record in 2021), Daan Van Dijk (5-8, 2nd Team All-Big Sky doubles), Nejc Sitar (8-13 in his two seasons at MSU, 2nd Team All-Big Sky doubles in 2021) and Marcos Zelver, whose 11 career wins are the most among current Bobcats. Newcomers Matej Panik, who teamed with Van Dijk this fall to advance to the ITA National Championships in doubles, and Jamieson Nathan bolster the squad.
Montana State opens the 2022 spring season with a dual against Air Force on Friday, January 14, at 1 pm in the Bobcat-Anderson Tennis Center.
