Balanced Effort Highlights Bobcats Opening Day at Hobble Creek Classic

SPRINGVILLE, Utah – All five Montana State golfers carded at least one round in the 70s as the Bobcats completed the first 36 holes at the Hobble Creek Fall Classic on Monday, Sept. 13, at Hobble Creek Golf Course.
Returning All-Big Sky honoree Kameryn Basye played the most consistent of the MSU contingent competing on the first day of the tournament hosted by Utah Vallley. Basye fired back-to-back rounds of 76 and 77. She is tied for 37th overall at 9-over-par 153.
MSU's remaining four players had at least one round that were the high points of their day.
Jordan Briggs and Hannah Rosanova each shot second-round scores of 3-over 75 recovering from first round scores in the 80s. Annika Danenhauer recorded a first-round 78 while Bailey Anderson totaled 79 strokes over her first set of 18 holes.
Briggs is tied for 64th at 158 strokes. Anderson (160), Rosanova (161) and Danenhauer (162) all follow her in the individual standings. Pacing the leaderboard is Gonzaga's Chaewon Baek who shot a 2-under 142.
The Bobcats sit 13th overall in the team standings with a total of 624 strokes (316-308). Gonzaga sits atop the table with 585 strokes and is followed by Boise State (589) and Cal Poly (590).
