
Bobcat Men's Tennis Team Earns Academic Honors

Cats reel in individual, team awards
BOZEMAN, Montana – Eight Montana State men's tennis players earned Big Sky Conference Spring All-Academic Honors, while nine landed on the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Academic Team for their work during the 2020-21 academic year. In addition, the Bobcats earned All-Academic Team status from the ITA.
"I'm very proud of our guys for their commitment to excelling academically as well as on the court," said Bobcat head coach Trey Morris. "Eight of our nine varsity players achieved academic honors, and that speaks to the culture of our program. Each of these student-athletes represent Montana State University and Bobcat Athletics very well."
These eight student-athletes earned Big Sky All-Academic honors: Joaquin Espinoza (jr., Industrial Engineering), Bradley Buckland (fr., Psychology), Jacob Huppin (fr, Chemical Engineering/Honors College), Manuel Monteiro (fr., Finance), Nejc Sitar (so., Mechanical Engineering), Andrew Suver (fr., University Studies), Daan Van Dijk (fr, Finance), Marcos Zelver (jr., Chemical Engineering). Those eight, plus Chase Stoner (sr., Liberal Studies), earned ITA All-Academic status.
Teams earn All-Academic status by compiling a grade point average of 3.20 or better. Montana State's cumulative team GPA was 3.60 in 2020-21.
