Montana State Track & Field Lauded With USTFCCCA All-Academic Honors

The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced Thursday its All-Academic Athletes and All-Academic Teams for the 2020-21 athletic year
NEW ORLEANS, La. – The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced Thursday its All-Academic Athletes and All-Academic Teams for the 2020-21 athletic year.
Both Bobcat men's and women's teams were awarded All-Academic Team status. The MSU women's program recorded a cumulative 3.57 GPA while the men achieved a 3.1 GPA. To be selected as an All-Academic Team, an institution's NCAA Squad List for indoor and/or outdoor track and field must be 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
A nearly double-digit total of Bobcat athletes were awarded with All-Academic distinction by the USTFCCCA.
Earning the honors on the men's side were Duncan Hamilton, Alec Nehring, Ethan Saberhagen, Drake Schneider and Colby Wilson. The women's team was represented by Lucy Corbett, Carla Nicosia, Camila Noe and Carley VonHeeder.
Athletes met the criteria for All-Academic recognition by achieving a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25, having completed at least two semesters at the institution, have finished the indoor season ranked in the top 96 on a performance list in any championship individual event, or participated in any round of the NCAA Championships including the Preliminary Championship outdoor competition.
Overall there were more than 1,100 women who were named All-Academic Athletes in NCAA Division I track and field and more than 850 men were listed as well.
