ON A ROLL: The Bobcats will look to extend its current eight-game win streak when it plays a home-and-home series with Idaho State this week. Montana State will play at Big Sky Conference-leading Idaho State, Thursday, Feb. 18 at 7 p.m. in Pocatello, before hosting the Bengals, Saturday, Feb. 20 at 12 noon in Bozeman. Idaho State and Montana State are currently first and second in the league standings, respectively.
COLLEGE SPORTS MADNESS MID-MAJOR PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Sophomore Darian White was named the College Sports Madness Mid-Major Player of the Week for her efforts in Montana State's sweep over Eastern Washington, last weekend in Cheney. Against EWU, the Boise product averaged 13 points, 7.5 rebounds, 4.5 steals and 3.0 assists per game, while shooting 44% from the field. White flirted with her first ever triple- double last Thursday posting 16 points, 10 rebounds and a career-high seven steals.
STATISTICALLY SPEAKING: Freshman Katelynn Limardo tied a school-record for three-point field-goal percentage when she connected on 5-of-5 from beyond the arc on Saturday at Eastern Washington. The last Bobcat to accomplish the feat was Katie Bussey, who also went 5-of-5 from long distance against Pacific, Dec. 22, 2010.
THE SCOUTING REPORT: Idaho State - The Bengals enter Thursday's contest 15-2 overall and 11-1 in Big Sky Conference play. Last weekend, Idaho State split a pair of league games in Moscow, Idaho. ISU defeated the Vandals 63-58 on Thursday, before dropping a 73-56 decision on Saturday afternoon. Prior to its loss at Idaho, the Bengals had run off 14 consecutive wins. ISU's lone non-conference loss was a 64-51 setback at Nebraska. On the season, ISU is led by Dora Goles and Diaba Konate, who average 13.7 and 12.4 points per game, respectively, while Estefania Ors and Callie Bourne chipped in 9.4 points per game, apiece. Under the glass, the Bengals are paced by Callie Bourne, who is hauling down 8.6 rebounds per contest. Idaho State's top three-point threat comes from Goles and Ors, who have knocked down 33 and 26 triples on the season, respectively. As a team, the Bengals average 70.8 points per game, while shooting 43.4%. ISU holds its opponents to 59.7 points per outing and 35.3% from the floor. In Big Sky action, the Bengals are holding its opponents to 61.3 points per game, which ranks only behind Montana State at 57.1 ppg. Last weekend, ISU was led by Konate, who averaged 12.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 3.0 steals and 2.0 assists per game. Also averaging in double-figure scoring were Goles (12.0 ppg) and Delaney Moore (10.0 ppg). Moore and Konate led the Bengals under the glass averaging 6.0 rebound per game. Seton Sobolewski is in his 13th year at ISU and owns a 224-168 overall record.
A LITTLE BIT OF TORI: Tori Martell, a product of Somerset, Wis., moved up the all-time Montana State three-point made chart. Martell has 191 career 3-pointers, which ranks third all-time. Ahead of her on MSU's all-time list are Katie Bussey (254), and Hannah Caudill (231). Martell's career 36.5% shooting from beyond the arc ranks ninth all-time at Montana State. Her eight 3-pointers against North Dakota on Dec. 6, 2020 broke the MSU school-record of seven previously held by Amy Meckling (Jan. 2, 2000), Brandi Lewis (Feb. 13, 2003) and Hannah Caudill (Jan. 28, 2017). Martell's total is tied for third most in the nation this season. She is currently second on the team in scoring, averaging 12.3 points per game. Martell has been in double-digit scoring on 11 occasions this season, including a career-best 26 points against North Dakota. Last weekend at EWU, she averaged 13.0 ppg.

In addition, White is averaging a team-best 5.4 rebounds per game. She recorded a career-high 11 rebounds at Portland. ALL JACKED UP: Madison Jackson, who was sidelined for seven games, returned to action against Northern Arizona on Jan. 21. The Parma, Idaho product has seen her minutes increase since her return. Last weekend at EWU, she averaged 4.0 points per game. Jackson notched a Big Sky best eight points against Weber State, which included a 2-of-2 effort from long distance. Jackson had her best game of the season at BYU on Dec. 10. She tallied 11 points, her only double-digit output of the season. At BYU, she connected on a career-best nine-of-nine from the line.
KUDOS TO KOLA: Sophomore Kola Bad Bear has played and started in all 18 games to date. The 6-2 product of Billings Senior is averaging 5.6 points and 3.1 rebounds per contest. Bad Bear had her best outing of the season at Portland State on Jan. 14 posting a career-high 16 points, connecting on seven-of-10 from the field. She has been in double-digit scoring on three occasions. Bad Bear pulled down seven rebounds- a season best- in both games at Eastern Washington. On the season, she is fourth on the Bobcat squad shooting 81.8% at the free throw. Bad Bear has converted 27-33 charity tosses.

Last week, she averaged 12.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 3.5 three-point makes, while shooting 69.2% from the field.
THE PRIDE OF ROSEMOUNT: True freshman Taylor Janssen has played in all 18 games, including three starts. She is averaging 14.6 minutes per contest. The Rosemount, Minn., native is averaging 5.2 points per game. Janssen posted a season-high 14 points in MSU's 102-53 win over Weber State on Feb. 4. For the game, she connected on 4-7 from the field, 2-3 from 3-point range and 4-4 at the line.
KEEP FEEDIN' DEDEN: Lexi Deden has played in all 18 games. The 6-1 freshman forward from Missoula is averaging 7.3 points and 4.2 rebounds per contest. Deden recorded a season-high 22 points in MSU's win over Northern Arizona on Jan. 23 when she connected on 10-14 from the field. Deden finished the NAU weekend averaging 15 points and 7.5 rebounds per game. The Deden name is familiar in Montana basketball circles. Deden's mother Dawn (Silliker) played for Montana from 1984-88. At UM, she was a 1,000-point scorer and was an all-Mountain West pick. In addition, Lexi's aunt/head coach at Sentinel High, Karen Deden, was a standout at Washington and is in the Husky Hall of Fame. Last week against EWU, Deden averaged 6.5 points and 2.5 rebounds per contest.
MENTIONING MOCCHI: Junior Gabby Mocchi has played in 17 of MSU's 18 games, including starting the last 12 outings. The 6-1 forward from Champlin, Minn., saw limited minutes early in the season, but had a breakout performance at Utah Valley with 13 points and has been a mainstay in the starting line-up ever since. Mocchi is averaging 8.6 points per game, while shooting 41.1% in Big Sky action. She recorded a career-high 18 points on 7-12 shooting at Portland State on Jan. 16.
SKYE'S THE LIMIT: Skye Lindsay, who sat out last season after transferring from Pepperdine, has seen action in eight games and is averaging 3.8 points and 3.1 rebounds per game. The Orem, Utah product posted a season-best 11 points at Portland.

Beattie's aunt/coach at Midland Christian Academy, Carla (Beattie) Cunneen, is also a former Lady Griz and was the 1996 Big Sky Sixth Player of the Year.
