Bobcat Women’s Basketball Named Big Sky Team Academic Champions

BOZEMAN, Mont. - For the second consecutive year, the Montana State women's basketball team has been named the 2025-26 Big Sky Team Academic Champions after maintaining a program-wide GPA of 3.76 throughout a historic season of competition.
The Bobcats, who set a new conference record after accumulating 57 wins in back-to-back seasons, topped off their winter honors by recording the highest GPA amongst Big Sky women's basketball teams.
"Congratulations to our Team Academic Champions from this past year," Commissioner Tom Wistrcill said. "We implemented these awards four years ago to further promote the incredible successes our student-athletes are having in the classroom on a consistent basis. During this time, we've seen some very strong efforts across all our sports that the entire membership should be proud of."
Eight Montana State players earned Big Sky All-Academic honors during the season, including Brianne Bailey, Taylee Chirrick, Kadynce Couture, Teagan Erickson, Brooke Fatupaito, Addison Harris, Ella Johnson and Courtney Smith. Dylan Philip was also one of seven Bobcats to earn a perfect 4.0 GPA, joining Bailey, Erickson, Fatupaito, Johnson and Smith.
Montana State also finished 11th in the nation in team GPA as honored by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association. It marked the eighth time in program history, all under the watch of head coach Tricia Binford, that the Bobcats have been a top 15 academic squad.
