Bobcat Men's Tennis Team Lands Transfer from Nationally-Ranked Middle Tennessee State

Brad Buckland joins Montana State men's tennis team
BOZEMAN, Montana – Brad Buckland, who posted a 9-3 record as a freshman at nationally-ranked Middle Tennessee State this spring, has transferred to Montana State, Bobcat coach Trey Morris announced Wednesday.
A native of Nottingham, England, Buckland's nine wins between the spring and fall seasons was second-most on the Blue Raiders team. He was a seasoned international player before arriving at MTSU, winning an ITF tournament title in Belfast, Ireland, and rising to an ITF ranking of No. 421 in the world.
"Bradley is a player that comes to us with a year of experience at a high D1 level," said Morris, who led the Bobcats to a 5-4 record in his first season as MSU's head men's tennis coach before the season was curtailed by the COVID-19 pandemic. "We fully expect Bradley to make an immediate impact on our team this coming year. As a staff we feel that Bradley fits our culture here at MSU perfectly and we can't wait to see how far we can take his tennis."
Buckland earned dual match singles wins against Austin Peay and Arkansas-Pine Bluff during the spring season. He also finished his freshman campaign with a 4-4 record in doubles play (including 1-1 this spring). He also excelled in the classroom, Morris said, posting a 3.817 grade point average.
