MSU’s Thompson-Siporen Sets Two Personal Bests on First Day of Big Sky Decathlon

Wyatt Thompson-Siporen of Montana State is among the top five in the individual men’s decathlon standings following the opening day of the Big Sky Conference Outdoor Championships
MISSOULA, Mont. – Wyatt Thompson-Siporen of Montana State is among the top five in the individual men's decathlon standings following the opening day of the Big Sky Conference Outdoor Championships at Montana's Dornblaser Field. Thompson-Siporen has a total of 3,627 points through the first five events of the decathlon that took place Wednesday.
The MSU junior completed personal-best marks in the long jump and high jump. Thompson-Siporen finished first among competitors in the long jump with a leap of 23 feet, 3.50 inches (7.10m). He took fourth in the high jump by clearing 6-03.50 (1.92m) which was his best mark he's completed as a Bobcat.
Thompson-Siporen took third in the shot put with a throw of 38-08.75 (11.80m). He also earned the seventh fastest time in the 400 (52.21) and ninth fastest time in the 100 (11.52). Thompson-Siporen sits less than 80 points behind second place, but leader Donte Robinson of Portland State has 3,834 points.
The men's decathlon competition picks back up at 10 a.m. on Thursday at Dornblaser Field. Thompson-Siporen and the decathlon field will open action with the 110 hurdles. Fans can keep with the meet by watching on PlutoTV or WatchBigSky.com.
