Bobcats Drop Home Finale to Southern Utah

Thunderbirds earn 5-2 win over Montana State
BOZEMAN, Montana - Southern Utah won the doubles point and grabbed a pair of straight-set wins early in singles play and earned a 5-2 men's tennis win over Montana State on Friday.
After Alex Flink extended his stretch of excellent play with a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 1 singles, the Thunderbirds sealed the win with wins at No. 5, No. 3 and No. 6 singles. Drew Brown finished the day with a 6-1, 4-6, 6-4 victory at No. 2 singles. "Al has really had a great senior season," said MSU coach Jared Burnham, "and I'm glad his last match on our courts was such a solid win. Drew has really played good tennis lately, too."
The Bobcats finish the regular season 6-11 overall, 5-5 in the Big Sky. The Cats remain in contention for a berth in the Big Sky Tournament, but that won't be decided until Saturday's results are in. Southern Utah is now 15-5, 7-2 in the league, and plays at Montana on Saturday.
