Thompson-Siporen Leads Bobcat Contingent Through First Day of Multis Meet

Three Bobcats sit atop the leaderboard in the men’s heptathlon following the opening day of Montana State track and field’s Multis Meet
BOZEMAN, Mont. – Three Bobcats sit atop the leaderboard in the men's heptathlon following the opening day of Montana State track and field's Multis Meet in Worthington Arena on Monday, Jan. 7.
MSU junior Wyatt Thompson-Siporen is currently in first place with a 2,915-point total through four of the first seven events. Bobcat junior Noah Martin registered 2,888 points and senior Alex Lewis accumulated 2,782 points to sit in second and third, respectively.
Thompson-Siporen finished first among six competitors in the shot put with a mark of 42-03.50 (12.89m). Lewis was the top competitor in both the 60-meter run (7.19 seconds) and the long jump (23-03.50). Martin closed out the day by taking first in the high jump (6-09.50).
Caleb Neth and Hunter Nicholson also participated in the opening day of the pentathlon. Neth is in fifth place with 2,620 points and Nicholson follows in sixth with 2,494 points.
Montana's Erika McLeod took first in the women's pentathlon by totaling 3,735 points. She took first in four of the five events. MSU's Alex Hellenberg finished fourth overall with 2,926 points. Freshman Lucy Corbett took fifth with 2,920 points. Corbett had the second-best mark in the high jump by clearing 5-02.25 (1.58m).
The MSU Multis Meet continues in Worthington Arena on Tuesday. The final three events of the heptathlon begin at 10 a.m.
