Rother, Amendt Join Montana State Coaching Staffs

Jake Rother and Travis Amendt joined the men’s tennis and women’s golf teams, respectively, as members of both squads’ coaching staffs
Jake Rother and Travis Amendt joined the men's tennis and women's golf teams, respectively, as members of both squads' coaching staffs. Both began their tenures with Montana State this summer and have been active through each team's fall schedules.
Rother most recently served as an assistant at St. Mary's University in San Antonio for one season after completing his collegiate career at Texas-San Antonio. He earned regional assistant coach of the year honors in his one season for the Rattlers. He was a member of the Roadrunners' tennis team for two seasons, helping earn UTSA a Conference USA Championship as a junior.
Rother was a two-time All-American for Tyler Junior College earning a NJCCA No. 6 singles title and No. 3 doubles championship. He redshirted for one season at Indiana before arriving in San Antonio.
In his role, Rother assists team activities and helps run the Bobcat-Anderson Tennis Center
Amendt served in some capacity as a golf instructor and professional for the past five years. He most recently served as the head instructor for the Amendt Golf Academy for two seasons after working as an assistant golf professional and instructor in Beaumont, Calif., for the Oak Valley Golf Club for four years.
Amendt completed his coaching training at the Golf Academy of America in Chandler, Ariz., and is a current Class A Master Certified Golf Teaching Professional. He has played in several mini tour events and has caddied in variety of tournaments.
