MSU Netmen Kellen Bates, Rok Sitar, Adrian Torrico All Claim Titles at Weber State

Bobcats show well in fall tournament action
The Montana State men's tennis team dodged a tornado on Friday, then caught one by the tail on Sunday in capturing three championships, eventually, at the Weber State Fall Invitational over the weekend.
Junior Adrian Torrico, a junior transfer from Harding University, won the singles competition in Flight B by topping a player from Weber State 6-1, 6-2. He won three straight matches on Sunday to capture the title. Torrico and senior Kellen Bates topped a team from Colorado Mesa to win the Flight A doubles championship, as well.
A pair of Bobcats, Bates and junior Rok Sitar, also advanced to the championship match of singles play in Flight A, and will square off later this week in Bozeman. The competition was moved into Sunday after a tornado touched down in the Ogden area on Friday. Sitar and sophomore Mateus Ceolin lost in the finals of the Flight B doubles competition.
"It was kind of a wild weekend with some good play but a lot of down time mixed in," said Bobcat coach Jared Burnham. "I thought the guys kept their focus and played well when they needed to. It was a very good weekend for our group."
The competition included Big Sky rivals Idaho State, Weber State and Southern Utah, along with WAC entry Grand Canyon and several smaller schools.
