Smarty Cats: Montana State Men’s and Women’s Tennis Teams Earn ITA Academic Honors

The Montana State men’s and women’s tennis teams were recognized for its prowess in the classroom, each garnering All-Intercollegiate Tennis Association Academic Team accolades.
The Montana State men's and women's tennis teams were recognized for its prowess in the classroom, each garnering All-Intercollegiate Tennis Association Academic Team accolades. To earn all-academic team honors, a program must post a combined cumulative grade-point average of 3.20 or higher for the entire 2015-16 season.
The Bobcat men's tennis team finished with a 3.74 grade-point average, the highest of any sport in the MSU Athletics Department and Big Sky Conference. The Montana State women's squad finished last season with a 3.66 gpa.
In addition, eleven Bobcats earned ITA Scholar-Athlete status. To be eligible, a student-athlete must be a varsity letterwinner; have a grade-point average of 3.50 or higher; and have been enrolled at their present school for a least two semesters.
Earning ITA Scholar-Athlete kudos are Kellen Bates, Mateus Ceolin, Charles Edgecombe, Alexander Flink, Harry James, Rok Sitar, Jessica Brycki, Wanda Holopainen, Laura Middel, Angelina Philippova and Linda Vink.
