Bobcat Women Host Colorado Christian in Exhibition Play Saturday Night

It will be a quick turnaround for the Montana State women’s basketball team as they host Colorado Christian in exhibition play on Saturday night. MSU defeated Rocky Mountain 75-43 on Thursday night in the home-opener.

"I was really proud of our performance against Rocky Mountain," said MSU 12th-year head coach Tricia Binford. "I thought our freshmen were comfortable out there. I was pleased with the effort and excited about our rebounding potential."
Big Sky Conference preseason MVP pick Peyton Ferris and freshman guard Oliana Squires each poured in 15 points, while freshman post Madeline Smith added ten points. Under the glass, freshman Blaire Braxton pulled down a game-high 14 rebounds. In all, MSU out-rebounded Rocky Mountain 53-34.
The Bobcats committed 14 turnovers, but countered that with 16 assists led by junior Hannah Caudill with six.
"We need to clean-up our play offensively and get our turnovers down and manageable," Binford stated. "Defensively, we need to focus on being more vocal."
Colorado Christian, who plays in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference and at the NCAA Division II level, posted a 23-10 overall mark and a 15-7 league ledger, last winter. The Cougars are coached by first-year mentor Corey Laster.
Montana State opens the regular-season at Utah on Nov. 12.
