MSU Finishes Fourth at Cougar Cup

Jaylee Tait was at the front of Montana State's women's golf team for three straight rounds, finishing the Cougar Cup tied for eighth. The sophomore shot back-to-back 73's followed by a 75 in the final round to end five over par (221).
The Bobcats battled their way from sixth place to finish the 54-hole tournament tied for fourth, the team's highest finish at the Cougar Cup. The team shot a three round total of 897, 33 over par (299-298-300). Washington State swept the field, finishing two over par (866).
Janelle Reali played consistent golf throughout the tournament, shooting a 224 (73-77-74), while Natassja Meredith came in just behind her with a 225 (77-73-75). Reali placed tied-21st and Meredith finished tied-23rd. Kati Greear also finished in the top 30, shooting a 227 (76-75-76) for 27th place. Clare Dittemore finished the week tied-60th recording a score 241 (82-77-72).
Haylee Folkvord matched Reali's 224 (74-73-77) while playing as an individual. Lauren Hausauer ended with a three-round total of 237 (82-79-76), placing tied-48th.
"We put three rounds together as a team," head coach Brittany Basye said. I am excited about how they played this week, however we still have work to do. We need to prepare big for Denver and work on shots we gave away at Palouse. Our up and down percentage needs to get better overall. These ladies fought hard and I expect them to do the same at Denver and Cal Poly. We will be prepared and have our games ready."
The 'Cats will travel to Denver on October 9 for the Ron Moore Women's Golf Collegiate Tournament hosted by the University of Denver.
