Bobcat Golfers Head to Arizona for Final Tune-Up Before Big Sky Tournament

MSU rides re-tooled lineup into season's home stretch
Montana State begins its final tune-up before the Big Sky Conference Championships on Monday at the University of Wyoming's Cowgirl Classic in Maricopa, Ariz.
The field features nine of the Big Sky Conference's 12 women's golf programs, which Bobcat coach Brittany Basye says should serve to prepare her team for the upcoming league tournament, which begins in two weeks. "This is a good field for the Big Sky, almost every team is here, so we need to bring our best game (Monday) and Tuesday," she said. "We've had a couple of good days of practice, and it's time to play."
Basye brings a re-tooled lineup to Arizona for the second straight tournament. Freshman Pari Keller entered the varsity lineup for the first time and tied junior mainstay Haylee Folkvord to team-low honors. Junior Janelle Reali rejoins the lineup, with classmate Kati Greear and freshman Jaylee Tait rounding out the starting five.
"We've worked hard on consistency in the short game in the since our tournament," Basye said. "We're excited to be competing again, and I look forward to see what these ladies can do this week."
Non-conference teams in the field include Santa Clara, Utah Valley, Nevada, Washington State, San Francisco, New Mexico State, Boise State, Seattle, Lamar and UTEP. Big Sky foes include NAU, Idaho, Sacramento State, Portland State, Eastern Washington, Southern Utah, Montana, Northern Colorado, and the Cats.
Play begins with 36 holes on Monday, and closes with 18 on Tuesday.
