MSU travels to Phoenix for Grand Canyon Invitationsl
Montana State travels to the Phoenix area to open its 2015 women's golf season Monday at the Grand Canyon University Invitational.
The Bobcats face a 21-team field that includes half of the Big Sky Conference and several solid teams from the West and Midwest. MSU coach Brittany Basye takes an experienced team that performed well at times during the fall season to Arizona. Janelle Reali (so, Livermore, CA), Jaylee Tait (fr., Littleton, CO), Kati Greear (jr., Moscow, ID), Haylee Folkvord (jr., Three Forks) and Lauren Hausauer (jr., Bozeman) comprise the scoring team this weekend. Pari Keller (fr., Cincinnati, OH) plays as an individual.
"I'm super excited to get these players back into competition," Basye said. "We've had great weather for practice and I'm anxious to start and see where we are and where we need to go to keep preparing for conference."
The three-round meet, features 18 holes on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday is at the Wigwam Resort Heritage Course. The course covers 6,200 yards, and teams play a practice round on Sunday.
