THE FRIENDLY CONFINES:
The 2015-16 edition of Montana State women's basketball opens its home season hosting West Coast Conference foe Portland, Friday, Nov. 20 at 5:30 p.m., in Worthington Arena. The game is the first of a double-header with the Bobcat men, who will host San Jose State at 8:05 p.m. The Bobcat women will continue its home-stand, hosting San Diego, Tuesday, Nov. 24 at 7:05 p.m.

THIS WEEK'S VITALS:
Montana State enters Friday night's contest 2-0 overall, after defeating Seattle U 80-51 and Nevada 66-53 on the road, last weekend. Senior Jasmine Hommes became the 21st Bobcat in history to score 1,000-points with her first basket at Nevada, last Sunday. Portland is 1-1 overall. The Pilots defeated Willamette 73-54 to open its season, last Saturday. UP dropped a 94-50 decision at No. 9 Oregon State on Monday in the Rose City. Portland has been led in its two games by Ellie Woerner, who is averaging 14 points and 3.5 rebounds per game. San Diego 2-0 on the season and will play at the University of Arizona on Saturday, before making the trip to Bozeman on Tuesday. The Toreros are currently ranked No. 12 in the latest College Insider Mid-Major Top-25 poll.

A LITTLE HOME OPENER HISTORY:
Since the 1976-77 season, Montana State is an impressive 27-12 all-time record in home-openers. Under head coach Tricia Binford, the Bobcats have notched a 5-5 mark beginning the season in Worthington Arena. Montana State and Portland have met twice in MSU's home-openers, with the Bobcats coming out on top in both occasions - Dec. 1, 2000, 79-62, and Nov. 22, 2002, 86-74.

THAT WAS THE WEEK THAT WAS:
Jasmine Hommes scored eight points, including a basket 5:15 into the game, giving her 1,001 career points, to help lift the Bobcats to a 66-53 win over Nevada on Sunday. Alexa Dawkins scored ten of her team-high 12 points in the opening half, while newcomer Riley Nordgaard chipped in nine points. Peyton Ferris and Annika Lai each added eight in the win. Hommes led four Montana State players in double-figures with a team-high 18 points as the Bobcats won its season-opener against Seattle University, Friday night in Key Arena. Also in double-digits were Ferris, 14, Delany Junkermier 11, and Nordgaard 10.
