Bobcats Conclude Fall Season in California

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — Montana State women's golf closes out the fall season at the Cal Poly Lady Mustang Invitational this weekend at Cyrpess Ridge Golf Course. This year's tournament will consist of 36 hole contest on a 72 par course, measuring 6,026 yards.
The Bobcat's are joined by Big Sky Conference members Montana, Southern Utah and Weber State, along with Cal Poly (Big West), CSUN, UC-Riverside, UC Santa Cruz, Dominican CSU Bakersfield, and Utah Valley.
"This tournament has a good field of teams, so we need to play our best golf of the fall," head coach Brittany Basye said. "We are ready to tee it up and shoot our best scores. The rankings came out a couple days ago and seeing those motivates them even more than before to continue good solid play. We need to stay focused and stick to our plans like we have all season."
Kati Greear qualified with the lowest score of 76.1, followed by Janelle Reali who shot a 77.1 six-round average. Jaylee Tait will join these two, along with Haylee Folkvord and Claire Dittemore.
Greear led MSU at the Ron Moore Invitational several weeks ago in Colorado, shooting a career low, one-under in the final round. The senior went on to finish 37th in the tournament at eight over par.
The last time the 'Cats competed in the Cal Poly Invite was in 2010, when Montana State finished 12th. The tournament begins Saturday, October 24 with tee times starting at 8 a.m. (PT) and concluding on Sunday with an 8:30 (PT) shotgun start.
