MSU earns fourth seed in conference tournament
Montana swept Montana State 4-0 in Missoula on Sunday to clinch second place in the Big Sky Conference. The Bobcats finish in a third place tie, and enter next week's league tournament as the fourth seed.
The Grizzlies didn't lose a set in Sunday's dual, although MSU's top three players did not finish close matches because the team outcome had been decided. After winning the doubles point, UM won easy decisions at the fourth, fifth and sixth ladder positions.
Montana State finishes the regular season with an 11-7 record, 7-3 in Big Sky play. The Cats tie for third with Northern Arizona, but drop to the fourth seed on the basis of NAU's regular season win over MSU. For finishing fourth, the Bobcats are rewarded with a match against fifth-seeded Sacramento State on the Hornets' home court.
