Montana State faces its final two games of the regular-season this weekend, The Bobcats will meet Northern Arizona on Thursday night at 7:05 p.m., before concluding Big Sky play with Sacramento State on Saturday at 2:05 p.m.

* Montana State faces its final two games of the regular-season this weekend, The Bobcats will meet Northern Arizona on Thursday night at 7:05 p.m., before concluding Big Sky play with Sacramento State on Saturday at 2:05 p.m. Saturday's game will also be MSU's Senior Night, as the Bobcats will honor Ashley Brumwell. It's been two months since MSU has played NAU or Sac State.
* Five teams have grabbed the seven available Big Sky tournament bids so far, including North Dakota, So. Utah, Montana, E. Washington and Sacramento State. Idaho State, MSU, Northern Colorado and Northern Arizona are in the hunt for the final two spots. A win by ISU over EWU or Portland State gets them one spot, while a MSU win in the final two games will most likely get them in, as well.
* Montana State holds a 39-20 advantage in its all-time series with Northern Arizona dating back to Jan. 14, 1988 when the Bobcats defeated the Lumberjacks 73-61 in Flagstaff. Recently, MSU has won eight straight from NAU. The Lumberjacks' last win over the Bobcats (76-64) was on Jan. 28, 2010 in Bozeman.
* Credit Bobcat radio play-by-play man Riley Corcoran for following this little nugget throughout the season. Montana State is one of just six programs at the NCAA Division I level to use the same starting line up in every game this season. The other five schools include Colorado State, Wyoming, Fordham, Montana and Eastern Illinois.
* The Bobcats lead the Big Sky Conference in 3-point field-goal percent defense, allowing its opponent to shoot just 29 percent from beyond the arc.
* MSU is second in the Big Sky in turnover margin at +3.1 and are third in the conference in assist/turnover ratio at 1.1.
* In Big Sky play, the Bobcats are first in the league averaging 16.9 assists per game.
* Ausha Cole's 116 assists are the most for a Bobcat player since Erica Perry finished with 146 during the 2007-08 campaign.
* Senior Ashley Brumwell is putting her name in the MSU record books as her career in the Blue and Gold winds down. The Hamilton product is 15th all-time in scoring with 1,160 points; 12th in rebounding with 649 boards and 2nd in blocked shots with 129.
* The Bobcats have dished out 428 assists this season, while committing just 405 turnovers. If MSU finishes the season with a positive assist/turnover mark, it would be the first time since the 1987-88 season that a Bobcat team has accomplished the feat.
* MSU will honor its lone senior Ashley Brumwell on Saturday afternoon. The Hamilton product has played in 119 games to date, which is fifth most in Bobcat history.
* MSU is ranked 16th in the nation averaging 5.3 blocks per game; 39th in assists per game at 16.1; 42nd in assist/turnover ratio at +1.09; 42nd in turnover margin +3.12; and 50th in free-throw percentage at 73.5.
A FULL PLATE:
Ashley Brumwell has a lot on her plate. In addition to her playing gig, the 5th-year senior just completed a student-teaching stint in the math at Bozeman High and received her undergraduate degree in December. Brumwell (nee' Albert) notched a career-high 26 points in MSU's win over Eastern Washington on Jan. 11. Last weekend, she averaged 8.5 points and 4.5 rebounds per game, while shooting 24 percent. She is currently 2nd on MSU's all-time career blocks chart with 129 swats.
SHE'S A KICK:
Jackie Elliott averaged 27.5 minutes of action last weekend in games at Southern Utah and at home vs. Montana. For the weekend, she averaged 5.5 points and 8.0 rebounds per game. Elliott pulled down a career-high 13 boards on Montana against the Lady Griz. Elliott, who was the 2010-11 Montana High School Gatorade Soccer Player of the Year, is majoring in mechanical engineering.
FROM THE TOWN THAT MADE VIOLET BEAUREGARDE FAMOUS:
Miles City product Kalli Durham, who has strong family ties to Montana State (grandfather Lin, Uncle Mick and cousin Casey played for the Bobcat men's team), averaged 8.5 points and 5.0 rebounds in losses to Southern Utah and Montana, last week. The daughter of former UM-Western Athletic Director and men's basketball coach Mark Durham, she has been in double-digits in 15 games this winter. Durham has recorded 39 career double-figure scoring games in three seasons.
ALL IN THE FAMILY:
Jasmine Hommes has started all 27 games and is averaging team-best 13.4 points, while pulling down 4.3 boards per contest. Hommes posted a career-best 24 points vs. So. Utah on Jan. 30. Last weekend, she averaged 9.5 points per game. In Big Sky play, Hommes is averaging a team-best 14.7 points per game. She also has strong ties to the MSU women's basketball program. She is the niece of former MSU and Big Sky MVP Blythe Hommes and former MSU and All-Big Sky performer Brooke Svendsen. Hommes' aunts made a combined 130 starts for MSU.
BABY TALK:
After taking last year off on maternity leave, Ausha Cole has returned to the Bobcat line-up. Cole has been in double-digits in six games, including a season-high 12 points vs. Montana and E. Washington. Cole is first in the Big Sky at 5.6 assists per game. Her assist/turnover ratio of +2.4 is tops in the Big Sky. On a side note, her biggest fan/daughter, Kadence, celebrated her 1st birthday on Nov. 19, 2013.
DAWK AND STOCK:
Alexa Dawkins has done a nice job coming off the bench this season. The former Bozeman High product is averaging 4.8 points and 3.9 rebounds in league play. Her 10 rebounds at Portland State on Feb. 8 were a career-high. Lindsay Stockton is averaging 4.1 points in 13.6 minutes of action this winter. Stockton recorded a Big Sky Conference personal season-high 14 points in MSU's win over Weber State on Jan. 23. Lindsay is the daughter of legendary NBA Hall of Famer and former Utah Jazz standout John Stockton, while Dawkins' father Dale played football on the University of Miami's 1987 National Championship team. Dawkins later went on to play wide receiver for the New York Jets from 1990-93.
FOR WHOM THE BELL TOLLS:
Redshirt freshman Margreet Barhoum is averaging 14.5 minutes per game coming off the bench in Big Sky action. Against Portland State, she registered a career-high 13 points on Feb. 8 in the Rose City. Last weekend, Barhoum led MSU averaging 10.5 points per game. The Edmonds, Wash., recorded a career-high six assists in MSU's win over Portland State on Jan. 9. Barhoum is currently third on the squad with 21 three-pointers to date, including three triples last weekend.
DeNOTE ON DeWIT:
Montana State forward Kayla DeWit posted a career-high 16 points in MSU's game against Northern Colorado on Feb. 15. The Columbia Falls product had 14 points in the first half, alone; connecting on 6-8 from the field and 4-4 from the line. Her 4.0 rebound average is fifth best on the team. DeWit hauled down a team-high nine rebounds in MSU's loss at Montana on Feb. 3. Last Saturday at Southern Utah, she came off the bench to notch 11 points and seven rebounds.
REDSHIRTING:
Sophomore Peyton Ferris, who averaged 2.4 points and 2.0 rebounds last winter, will redshirt the 2013-14 campaign, according to MSU head coach Tricia Binford. Already on redshirt is junior college transfer and guard Michelle Seitz.
