Bobcat Junior Niklas Brandes Earns Big Sky Weekly Honor

Fourth time MSU's top singles player so honored
For the fourth time in his Bobcat tennis career, the Big Sky Conference has honored Niklas Brandes as its Men's Tennis Player of the Week.
The junior from Nordenham, Germany rolled through his matches against MSU Billings and Montana last week without losing a game. His 2-0 record at the No. 1 singles spot included a win over Montana's 2012 First Team All-Big Sky player Mikolaj Caruk. Brandes' singles victories this week are his first two of the season, after dropping decisions to nationally-recognized Pac 12 and Mountain West foes. Brandes also teamed with Harry James for a pair of wins at No. 2 doubles.
A two-time First Team All-Big Sky choice, Brandes earned a pair of player of the week awards as a freshman, and one more last year. He and the Bobcats are idle this week before heading into Big Sky play March 1 hosting Portland State.
