The Montana State women’s tennis team dropped its season-opener in a 7-0 decision to Pac-12 foe Washington State, Friday afternoon.
The Montana State women's tennis team dropped its season-opener in a 7-0 decision to Pac-12 foe Washington State, Friday afternoon.
Washington State captured wins at Nos. 1 and 2 doubles to earn the first point of the match. No. 3 doubles ended as the Cougars won the doubles point. At the time, Montana State's tandem of Laura Middel and Molly Crum led WSU's Dajana Ognjenovic and Charlotte Konning 5-4.
Washington State took all six singles matches in straight sets. The Bobcats received a strong performance at No. 5 singles, where senior Wena Tsan dropped an 8-5 pro-set decision to Ognjenovic.
"I thought we played pretty well," said 14th year Montana State head coach Denise Albrecht. "It's always tough opening up with a Pac-12 opponent. I thought everyone did a nice job competing."
The Bobcats will face Idaho on Saturday morning in Pullman, Wash.
