Crawford top finisher for MSU
The Montana State women's golf team finished in tenth place with a score of 953 (326-313-314) at the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic in Chandler, Ariz. It was the last tune up before the Big Sky Championship that will also take place at the Ocotillo Golf Resort.(Final Results)
Paige Crawford led the Bobcats with a final score of 226 (81-71-74) allowing her to secure another top-10 finish. Crawford tied for sixth with one other player as Molly Dorans finished in a tie for 14th with a final score of 231 (77-78-76).
Kelly O'Brien finished tied for 66th with her final score of 244 (82-79-83) while Kati Greear finished in a tie for 86th after she carded a final round score of 81 to bring her total score to 252 (86-85-81). Pamela Calderon Rojas tied for 99th with a score of 258 (86-85-87).
Hayley Young of Boise State took the individual title with a score of 214 (71-71-72) with Portland State's Aram Choi (77-73-71-221) and Britney Yada (77-71-74-222) rounding out the top three. Boise State was crowned the tournament champion with a team score of 901 (307-301-293). Xavier took second with a score of 920 (325-296-299).
"To finish tenth of 19 teams is great for us and we definitely had big improvements from last year. To have two top-15 finishes is great. I saw some really positive things and also things we need to work on for conference. We are going to work hard for a week and a half and be ready to go for the conference tournament, said head coach Brittany Basye.
The Bobcats close out the 2013 season at the Big Sky Championship in Chandler Arizona, which will take place April 21-23.
