MSU, Yellowjackets get together for exhibition
Boasting a Big Sky Conference regular season championship and six of seven returning starters, Montana State's 2014 men's tennis team debuts at home on Saturday, hosting MSU-Billings in an exhibition match.
The Bobcats have played in several fall events, all on the road, in September and October. "The guys have played well, especially in doubles," said second-year coach Jared Burnham. "We've seen some improvements, especially in doubles play, and this will be a good chance for us to play at home."
Returning All-Big Sky selection Niklas Brandes, a junior, leads the Bobcats. He joins fellow returners Diego Campos, Harry James, Javier Martin-Morillas and Markus Schleuter as MSU pursues another league crown once the 2014 campaign begins in earnest in January.
Match time is 10:30 am in the Anderson-Bobcat Tennis Center. The event will be scored as a dual, but will not count in either team's won-loss records for 2014.
