Niklas Brandes picks up where he left off with wins
Montana State opened its 2013 men's tennis season, and Jared Burnham's tenure as the program's head coach, with a 5-2 victory over Seattle at the Air Force Academy on Friday.
Niklas Brandes won at No. 1 singles and teamed with Diego Campos to win at No. 1 doubles to lead the way for the Bobcats, which won the doubles point and captured four of the six singles matches. Markus Schleuter, Diego Campos and Kenny Dodd each won singles matches, Dodd's coming in come-from-behind fashion (3-6, 7-5, 10-7).
Montana State's weekend in Colorado continues Saturday when the Bobcats face Air Force. On Sunday, MSU kicks off conference play with a league match at Northern Colorado.
