Montana State Tennis Trio Lands on Big Sky All-Conference Squads

A pair of Montana State tennis standouts were named to the All Big Sky Conference Tennis First-Team, while another earned honorable-mention all-league accolades
A pair of Montana State tennis standouts were named to the All Big Sky Conference Tennis First-Team, while another earned honorable-mention all-league accolades.
Junior Char Hjalmarsson, a native of Karlskrona, Sweden, was named to the women's first-team after notching a 5-3 Big Sky Conference record at the No. 1 singles position. It was the fourth best mark in the Big Sky this season. In addition, Hjalmarsson is a two-time All Big Sky Conference Academic honoree.
Freshman Niklas Brandes, a native of Nordenham, Germany, was named to the men's first-team after guiding the Bobcats from the top spot with a 4-1 league ledger. Brandes finished the season 11-7 overall in singles play.
Sophomore Paulina Lopez, a sophomore from Naucalpan, Mexico, also found her name on the Big Sky all-conference squad, earning honorable mention kudos for her play this season. Competing mostly at No. 3 singles, Lopez notched a 4-3 Big Sky record. She was also 1-0 at the No. 2 spot.
Lopez combined with Hjalmarsson at No. 1 doubles, where the tandem recorded a 3-2 Big Sky record.
