Bobcat Women Host Tennessee State

Fresh off its 71-65 win at Utah State on Saturday afternoon, the Montana State women's basketball team will host Tennessee State this evening in Worthington Arena at 7 p.m.

Montana State (5-1) will be playing its first home game against a NCAA Division I opponent this season. The Bobcats are 4-1 on the road this season, with its lone home victory coming against UM-Western (81-49) on Nov. 29.

“We're looking forward to playing at home,” said MSU head coach Tricia Binford. “We've done a nice job focusing when we are on the road, now we need to prove that we can protect the home floor. It's going to be nice to play in front of our crowd and to maintain a normal routine.”

In its win over the Aggies on Saturday, the Bobcats had four players in double-figure scoring, including Kalli Durham 18, Ashley Brumwell 14, Rachel Semansky 13, and Jackie Elliott 11.

Tennessee State (3-4) participated in the 32nd Annual Montana Holiday Classic over the weekend. The Tigers defeated Idaho 69-64 in the tournament opener, before falling to the Lady Griz 71-48 in the championship game.

Simone Hopes, a 5-10 forward from Houston, Texas, and Kesi Hess, a 5-10 guard from Dublin, Ohio, were named to the UM All-tournament team. Hopes is leading TSU in scoring and rebounding, averaging 9.7 points and 8.0 boards per game. Hess is second on the squad chipping in 8.9 points per contest.

Tonight's game will mark the first meeting between the two schools.
