A four-year letterwinner from Manizales, Columbia, Ferrero will use the $7,500 one-time non-renewable grant to pursue a master's of arts degree in Latin American studies at UC-San Diego next fall.
Ferrero earned his undergraduate degree from Montana State in anthropology.
Created in 1964, the NCAA post graduate scholarship program highlights excellence in academics and athletics, and requires student-athletes to be involved in campus activities and community service.
