Women's Golf Shows Major Improvement at Red Rocks Invite

The Montana State Women's Golf team showed how off-season work pays off at the Red Rocks Invitational on Saturday. The Bobcats finished in 8th place at Oakcreek Country Club, a 6,084 yard, par 72 championship course. Invitational host, Northern Arizona won the event after carding 613 (151-152-156-156-164). MSU finished with 654, 78 over (155-164-165-170-179). (Complete Results)

Leslie McGetrick was the highest finisher as she tied for sixth place with a combined total of 155 (78-77, 11 over).

After the first day of play, MSU sat in eighth place with a team score of 327 (+39). McGetrick was the opening day's highest ranking Bobcat after tying for 12^th place with 78 (+6).

Paige Crawford finished in 30^th with 164 (82-82). Molly Dorans ended the weekend just one stroke behind Crawford and ended in 35^th (32-82). Melissa Hulstrand finished with 170 (88-83) for 70^th, while Kelly O'Brien ended in 90^th with 181 (93-88).

MSU doesn't return to the course until March 17 when they travel to Tampa, Fla. for the NIU Snowbird Invitational. The two-day competition will take place at Pebblecreek Golf Course.
