Bobcat Rally Falls Short at UC Riverside

The Montana State women's basketball team try to overcome a 19-point second half deficit, but fell 68-63 to UC Riverside on Friday night.
The Montana State women's basketball team rallied from a 19-point second-half deficit to pull to within six points in the waning moments of its game against UC Riverside, but the Higlanders held on for a 68-63 victory, Friday night.
Free throw shooting and turnovers proved costly for Montana State (2-6) as the Bobcats posted 20 miscues and shot 65 percent from the line.
"We have to take care of the ball," said MSU head coach Tricia "We're giving our opponents too many possessions, while limiting our opportunities. And, I thought the other difference in the game was our free throw shooting."
UC Riverside (4-2) converted MSU's turnovers into 17 points.
For the game, Montana State was led by redshirt-freshman Chelsea Banis with a game-high 15 points. Also in double-digits were Katie Bussey 14, Rachel Semansky 11 and Lyndi Seidensticker 10.
The Bobcats were led under the boards by Sarah Balian and Semansky with nine and eight rebounds, respectively.
MSU will play at No. 12 UCLA on Sunday afternoon in Pauley Pavilion.
