JUNIOR: Bussey had an outstanding junior campaign, which culminated by being named to the all Big Sky Conference second team in a vote by the league’s nine coaches…for the season averaged a team-best 14.5 points per game, while chipping in 4.2 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.5 steals per game…surpassed the coveted 1,000 point plateau on Jan. 17 against Weber State to become the 17th player in MSU history to accomplish the milestone…current career total of 1,190 points ranks 13th all-time…also became Montana State’s all-time three-point field goal leader with 182 triples…posted 24 double-figure scoring games, including five with 20 points or more…had a season-best 28 points against Northern Arizona…registered career-best seven assists on three occasions, with the last coming at home against Portland State…notched a career-high 10 rebounds in the same game against the Vikings…in Big Sky only contests ranked 4th in minutes played, 5th in three-point field goals made, 6th in free throw percentage, 7th in scoring, 7th in assist/turnover ratio, 8th in assists, and 19th in rebounding…played and started in all 31 games…shot 36 percent from the field and 82 percent from the free throw line…garnered Big Sky Conference Player of the Week accolades on two occasions (Jan. 17 and Feb. 7)…was MSU’s Player of the Week three times.
SOPHOMORE: There was no signs of the dreaded sophomore slump in Bussey’s 2009-10 season, after finishing second on the team in scoring, averaging 13.5 points and 3.8 rebounds per game...named All Big Sky Conference honorable mention...led team with 78 three-point makes, which tied for the most in Bobcat history in a single-season...recorded 25 double-figure scoring games, including five outings of 20 points or more...posted career-best 30 points at Pacific...had career-best six three 3-pointers on two occasions...pulled down career best 10 boards, twice, last coming in Big Sky Championship game against Portland State.
FRESHMAN: Bussey was the 2008-09 Big Sky Conference Freshman of the Year, after averaging 10.7 points and 2.2 rebounds per game...recorded 19 double-figure scoring games, including two contests with 20 or more points...had a season-best 20 points in back-to-back games at Eastern Washington and Portland State...connected on five-of-nine three-pointers against the University of Montana in Bozeman...led Montana State with 38 three-pointers...ended season third on the team in scoring, while shooting 38 percent from the field, 36 percent from beyond the arc and 78 percent from the free throw line...averaged 11.5 points and 2.5 rebounds at the Big Sky Conference tournament...dished out a season-best four assists against Great Falls...averaged 1.5 assists and 24.6 minutes per game...garnered Big Sky Conference All Academic honors.
HIGH SCHOOL: A four-year letterwinner Alamosa High School Mean Moose…as a senior, chipped in 23.6 points, 3.3 rebounds, 3.1 steals and 3.5 assists per game… in double-figure in 23 of 26 games, including two games in double-digit steals and assists...was the third leading scorer in the 4A South Central League… shot 46 percent from the field, 39 percent from 3-point range, and 84 percent from the line…named MVP of the South Central League…earned three Colorado All-State honors… as a junior, she averaged 13.7 points, 3.2 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 3.6 steals, guiding AHS to a 21-5 overall mark...named Colorado 4A honorable mention… As a sophomore, the all-conference honoree averaged 13.3 points and 3.1 steals…four-year all-academic selection.
PERSONAL: Born May 3, 1990…daughter of Lorey and Duane Bussey…has two sisters, Emily and Erica…majoring in kinesiology.
