Background: Graduated from Manhattan High School in 2022 ... Capped off his high school career by placing third in the 200 and the 400 meters, fourth in the 100 meters, ninth in the 4x400-meter relay and 10th in the long jump at the MHSA Class B State Track & Field Championships ... Ran his personal-best 400-meter time of 50.40 to win the Midland Roundtable top 10 ... Led off Manhattan's state-championship 4x400-meter relay team as a junior ... Was also the Class B runner-up in the 200 meters and placed fifth in the 400 meters and the long jump, plus sixth in the 100 meters as a junior ... Qualified for the state meet for the first time as a freshman in 2019, when he placed 14th in the 100 meters and 20th in the long jump, while also helping the Tigers place fourth in the 4x400-meter relay ... Also lettered in football and basketball ... Helped Manhattan win a state football title as a junior ... Helped the Tigers to a state-runner-up season in basketball as a junior.
