Montana State Heads to Pocatello for Bengal Invitational on Friday and Saturday

Bobcats set for final road regular-season meet
BOZEMAN, Mont. --- The Montana State track & field team is set to head south to Pocatello, Idaho, for the first time this outdoor season to compete at the Bengal Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
The Cats will compete in their penultimate regular-season meet, including their last of the season on the road, when they travel to Idaho State this weekend. Sydney Brewster, Maggie Hillis, Jenavieve Lynch, and Sydney Mattfeldt will open the meet in the women's hammer at 1 p.m., while Tilde Bjerager, Sabine Brueck, Hailey Ells, and Millie Hubbell will kick off the running events in the women's 100-meter hurdles at 3:30 p.m.

The Competition: Montana State will face off against four other programs in Pocatello this weekend, including Big Sky competitors Idaho State and Montana, as well as the College of Idaho and Treasure Valley Community College.
Bobcat Competitors: The Bobcats will send a large squad to their penultimate regular-season meet, with 22 women and 24 men traveling to Pocatello for the Bengal Invitational. Montana State's competitors on the women's side include Tilde Bjerager, Emma Brensdal, Sydney Brewster, Sabine Brueck, Hailey Ells, Giulia Gandolfi, Peyton Garrison, Samantha Geraets, Libby Hansen, Caroline Hawkes, Maggie Hillis, Mille Hubbell, Annie Kaul, Olivia Lewis, Jenavieve Lynch, Sydney Mattfeldt, Brooke Reuter, Tatum Richards, Ave Roberts, Kaitlyn Skinner, Jadyn VanDyken, and Jaeden Wolff.
The Bobcat men making the trip to Pocatello include Will Anderson, Noah Barbery, Eli Boppart, Trystin Chapel, Nash Coley, Billy Cunningham, Matt Furdyk, Will Giesen, Tyler Gilman, Jett Grundy, Ryan Harrington, Bob Hartley, Easton Hatleberg, Talon Holmquist, Jordan Lasher, Chase McGee, Timbur Nilson, Ben Parks, Ben Saelens, Malikye Simpson, Xavier Simpson, Stryder Todd-Fields, Drake Wilkes, and Preston Wysocki.
Last Time Out: The Bobcats last competed at four meets in a three-day span in Southern California, competing at the Bryan Clay Invitational, Pacific Coast Invitational, Beach Invitational, and Mt. SAC Relays. The Cats tallied five school records – three at the Mt. SAC Relays and two at the Pacific Coast – along with 18 improvements to the Montana State all-time top-10 lists. Caroline Hawkes shattered four records on her own, taking down a 29-year-old school record in the 400-meter dash along with the 4x400m record at the Mt. SAC Relays, and the 200m and 4x100m records at the Pacific Coast Invitational. The women's 4x100m relay team consisted of Peyton Garrison, Hawkes, Brooke Reuter, and Jaeden Wolff, while the 4x400m record was broken by Tilde Bjerager, Garrison, Giulia Gandolfi, and Hawkes. Bjerager also shattered the 400m hurdles record for the second time this season in a strong weekend for the sprinters. Sydney Brewster came away with her third Big Sky Women's Field Athlete of the Week award with a runner-up performance in the shot put at the Beach Invitational.
Up Next: Montana State will return to Bozeman to conclude the regular season at home, hosting the Tom Gage Classic on May 8. The Bobcats will celebrate their senior class as they compete at the Bobcat Track & Field Complex for the final time.
The Big Sky Outdoor Championships in Portland, Ore., will open the postseason on May 13-16, with the NCAA West First Round in Fayetteville, Ark., (May 27-30) and the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Ore., (June 10-13) set to wrap up the 2025-26 campaign.
