Bobcats in third place through two rounds of conference tournament in Arizona
LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz. --- The Montana State women's golf team concluded its second round at the Big Sky Championship in third place as Norah Seidl remained in the top 10 individually in a tie for third at the Wigwam Golf Club on Tuesday.
Seidl and Lauren Greeny each carded rounds of 2-over 73 to lead the Bobcats on Tuesday as the team combined for a score of 299 on the day. The Cats are 15-over 583 through two rounds, with Seidl (T-3rd), Greeny (11th), and Eva Heinz (T-19th) each sitting in the top 20 with 18 holes remaining.
"Today obviously wasn't great as team score, and we all know it," Montana State head coach Brittany Basye said. "We kept fighting until the end and got a few birdies. Final round tomorrow – they need to find their confidence and go believe. Coach Joey and I believe in them. They need to believe in themselves. We have 18 holes left, and I am fully confident that this team will show up. We all know what this means, and for our seniors Maddie and Greeny, it'll be extra special. No matter what happens, they will play gritty until the 18thhole and keep up the fight. We need those stars to align a little better for us tomorrow."
Montana State counted a pair of 73s from Seidl and Greeny, a 76 from Ashleigh Wilson, and a 77 from Heinz in the second round, while Maddie Montoya posted a 78 on Tuesday.
