Bobcats Drop Men's Tennis Decision at Big 12 Foe Utah on Saturday

MSU takes three singles matches to three sets
(March 7, 2026) – Three Bobcats extended singles matches to three sets but Utah overpowered Montana State 7-0 in men's tennis on Saturday afternoon in Salt Lake City.
Sophomore Oumar Diallo dropped a three-set match at No. 3 singles (6-4, 3-6, 10-4) to Simeon Terziev, while one ladder spot down David Ismanescu fell 3-6, 6-1, 6-2 to Lorenzo Esquici. In the match of the day at No. 6, MSU's Eddie Biss fell to Charles Frey 5-7, 7-6 (5), 10-7.
The day began with MSU dropping the doubles point. Yassin Elaroussy and Andre Stewart fell at the top spot while Biss and Camille Chantron lost at No. 2, both by 6-3 scores. Oumar Diallo and David Ismanescu led 5-4 at the bottom spot when the match was abandoned.
Elaroussy (No. 1), Stewart (No. 2) and Chantron (No. 5) all dropped singles matches in straight sets. The Bobcats fall to 3-7 with the loss, while Utah raises its record to 4-9. The Cats play three matches in Boise, Idaho next weekend.
