Montana State faces "tough, well-coached" Eagles
BOZEMAN, Mont. (Feb. 6, 2026) – Montana State makes the middle stop of a three-game women's basketball road swing on Saturday, when the Bobcats visit Eastern Washington. Tipoff is 3 pm MT at Reese Court in Cheney.
The Cats face an Eagles team (12-11 overall, 5-5 Big Sky) that beat Montana 76-72 on Saturday behind Kourtney Grossman's 21 points and 15 rebounds. Eastern has alternated wins and losses since winning in Missoula and at home against Weber State in early January. Elyn Bowers (14.9 points per game), Ella Gallatin (14.5 ppg) and Grossman (13.5 ppg) lead a balanced Eastern Washington offense.
"Eastern Washington is a tough team, well-coached, and difficult to play on their home floor," said MSU coach Tricia Binford. "We're still a young team so these experiences provide opportunities to learn and grow. This will be a great test."
Montana State's three-game win streak was snapped at Idaho. The cold-shooting Cats shot just 30.3%, its second-lowest percentage of the season. The loss cost the Bobcats a share of first place in the Big Sky standings. MSU is now 16-6 overall, 9-2 in league play.
Saturday's game streams on ESPN+ and is broadcast around Montana on the Bobcat Radio Network, and on the Varsity app, with Daniel Salle on the call.
