BOZEMAN, Mont. – The Montana State women's basketball team opens exhibition play on Wednesday, Oct. 14, hosting Cedarville University.
Â
Marking the first of two exhibitions this season, Wednesday night's matchup will be the first-ever contest between the Bobcats and the Yellow Jackets. The 2026-27 team took to the court for the first time last week at the Blue and Gold Scrimmage, kicking off the 22nd season under head coach Tricia Binford.
Â
"We are excited to play someone different," Binford said. "Cedarville is a competitive team that is capable of turning opponents over, so it will be a great test of our ability to control possessions. I'm looking forward to getting our newcomers on the floor for the first time, as well as the return of Dylan Philip, who has worked tirelessly to get back in the Blue and Gold."
Â
Joining Montana State's 10 returning players, including reigning Big Sky MVP Taylee Chirrick and first-team all-conference selection Addison Harris, four new Bobcats will look for their first opportunities to play against the visitors from Ohio.
Â
The Bobcats and Yellow Jackets will tip off at 7:00 p.m. MT in the Brick Breeden Fieldhouse. Single-match tickets for the 2026-27 season are on sale now.
Â
"October can be a grind, but this month feels like we are just getting started," Binford said. "Having the Blue and Gold Scrimmage under our belt and early opportunities to play against different opponents will be a huge advantage as we enter a challenging non-conference schedule."
Â
Montana State will return to the court to face South Dakota Mines in the second and final exhibition match on Oct. 25. The regular season begins Nov. 2, when the Bobcats welcome Black Hills State to Bozeman.
