BOZEMAN, Mont. – Bobcat fans will get an early opportunity to watch the Montana State women's basketball team in action at the annual Blue and Gold Scrimmage on Tuesday, Oct. 6.
Â
MSU will tip off against the scout team at 6:30 p.m. MT, with doors to the Brick Breeden Fieldhouse opening 30 minutes prior. Admission is free, and popcorn and water will be provided.
Â
Coming off two of the most successful seasons in program history, head coach Tricia Binford looks to improve upon last season's results in her 22nd year leading the Bobcats.
Â
"This year's team is going to be a fun group for our community to come out and watch on a nightly basis," Binford said. "Blue and Gold is the perfect opportunity for our team to get one percent better, while giving the fans their first opportunity to see them live."
Â
With 10 returners on the roster, the MSU squad promises another year of high-level competition led by reigning Big Sky MVP Taylee Chirrick and All-Big Sky selection Addison Harris. Alongside the rest of last year's starting lineup, Issy Bunyan, Ella Johnson, and Jamison Philip, Dylan Philip returns for her final season after being sidelined with an injury last year.
Â
Transfers Braeden Gunlock and Ebele Mbagwu will get their first looks at basketball in the Brick, while Emma Dongelmans and Madison O'Connor make their collegiate debuts.
The Bobcats will continue preseason play with a pair of exhibition games against Cedarville and South Dakota Mines on Oct. 14 and 25, respectively, before hosting Black Hills State in the season opener on Nov. 2. Season tickets are on sale now, and single-game tickets will be available for purchase on Oct. 17.Â
