Montana State returns to the warm confines of Shroyer Gym this week for a pair of Big Sky Conference matches.

The Bobcats open against Weber State, Thursday, Oct. 23, before closing out the weekend facing Idaho State, Saturday, Oct. 25. Thursday night's match is slated for 7 p.m., while MSU's match against the Bengals begins at 1 p.m., Saturday afternoon. Saturday's match against ISU is slated as MSU's annual Pack the Place in Pink contest.
TWTWTW: Montana State saw its consecutive winning streak of five five-set matches snapped as Portland State rallied for a 3-2 victory over the Bobcats, last Thursday. The Cats entered the contest with a 5-1 record in five-set matches. PSU fought off match point in set four at 24-23 following a kill by MSU's Camryn Greenwald. The Vikings responded with three straight points to capture the frame, forcing a fifth set. The Bobcats trailed in set four 20-14 but went on a 9-1 run behind the serving of Rhew. The match, which finished just shy of 2 ½ hours, saw 34 ties and 15 lead changes. In the final set, the Bobcats fought off two match points to pull within 14-13 on a kill by Karli Heidemann. PSU scored the last point on an MSU hitting error. Madilyn Siebler led MSU with 16 kills, while adding 12 digs. Heidemann also reached double digits, posting 14 kills, a .300 attack mark, 18 digs and four blocks. Joelie Spelts and Elli Tufto each registered eight kills. Teagan Jaynes dished out 44 assists and added nine digs. Spelts led the Bobcats at the net with six blocks. Lauren Lindseth and Nicolette Noble hit double figure digs with 20 and 13, respectively. Sac State outhit Montana State .345 to .169 en route to a 3-0 win over the Bobcats last Saturday. Heidemann led MSU with 11 kills, a .400 attack mark and a team-high nine digs.
MOVIN' ON UP: Lauren Lindseth moved into second on MSU's all-time career digs chart against Northern Arizona on Oct. 2 in Shroyer Gym. Last weekend at Sacramento State, she became just the second Bobcat in history to go over the 1,800-career dig mark. Lindseth's career total stands at 1,804 digs. The native of Great Falls also broke into the top 10 on MSU's all-time service ace chart with 121.

- Senior libero Lauren Lindseth averaged 3.63 digs per set as the Bobcats dropped a pair of Big Sky road matches, last weekend. Lindseth recorded a weekend-high 21 digs in MSU's 3-2 loss at Portland State. On the season, Lindseth is averaging 4.61 digs per set, which is second in the Big Sky Conference and ranks 32nd in the nation. Lindseth's current total of 327 digs is second in the Big Sky and ranks 46th in the country.
- Sophomore outside hitter Karli Heidemann recorded 25 kills in eight sets, last week. Heidemann also registered 27 digs (3.38 dps), four blocks and an ace in the two matches. Against Northern Arizona on Oct. 2, she matched a career-high with 21 kills and added a career-high 17 digs. Heidemann is currently averaging 3.15 kps, which ranks 9th in the Big Sky.
- Senior middle blocker Camryn Greenwald is averaging 1.74 kills per set, while hitting a team-best .344 from the field. Greenwald's .344 attack mark is seventh best in the Big Sky and ranks 107th in the nation. The Woodbury, Minn., product had a career-high 17 kills in MSU's win over Maryland Eastern Shore on Sept. 4. Greenwald has had six matches this season hitting .400 or better.
- Junior Joelie Spelts has been MSU's top blocker this season. The Gillette, Wyo., product averages .97 blocks per set, which includes a season-best seven blocks as the Bobcats dispatched Bakersfield on Sept. 5. Her current .97 bps ranks tenth in the Big Sky.
- Montana State freshmen Teagan Jaynes and Elli Tufto returned to the Bobcat starting rotation after missing several matches due to injuries in mid-September. The duo's return made an immediate impact as the Bobcats have won five of its last eight matches with the twosome back in the lineup. Jaynes, a setter from Northfield, Minn., is averaging 9.17 assists per set in Big Sky action. She is also averaging .76 kps while hitting .310. In addition, Jaynes has tallied 21 aces and is averaging 1.76 digs per set. Tufto, an outside hitter from Prior Lake, Minn., is second on the squad averaging 2.30 kills per set, while hitting .182. She had been in double figure kills on six occasions, including a season-best 16 kills against Santa Clara.
