Bobcat Women Tabbed Third in Preseason Poll

“It’s a credit to our players to be picked among the top three in the Big Sky,” said MSU head coach Suzie Woodburn.
The Montana State women's tennis team has been picked to finish third in the Big Sky Conference preseason coaches' poll, the league office announced on Monday.
Sacramento State was tabbed to win the conference with 64 points, including eight first-place votes, while Northern Arizona was second (54). The Bobcats, who went 13-7 overall and 4-4 in Big Sky action last season, received 50 points, and one first-place vote. The league coaches could not vote for the own program.
Montana State returns six letterwinners from last season, including No. 1 singles standout Marta Garcia-Reboredo. MSU also returns two nationally ranked doubles tandems, including Meg McCarty and Jojo Bach who are ranked No. 75 by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. It marks the first time a Bobcat duo has been nationally ranked.

"The team also knows that the most important thing is how we are playing in April," Woodburn added. "This group loves to compete. They are hungry, have put in a lot of work, and are excited to get the season started."
MSU opens its season on Friday against Utah Tech in Salt Lake City.
