Madilyn Siebler recorded 15 kills and Karli Heidemann 11 as Montana State overcame a slow start to lead Montana State to a 3-1 win over Idaho in Moscow, Idaho on Thursday.
Idaho came out swinging, registering 13 kills to only one hitting error to hit 60 percent in the first set, but the Bobcats steadied. MSU took the last three sets 25-9, 25-12 and 25-14, hitting .256 on the match to Idaho/s .215.
"We started a little slow tonight but once we got going we got into our groove and played solid and consistent," said Montana State coach Matt Houk. "We got good performances from Madilyn and Karli."
The Bobcats keyed their offense with effective serving, recording 13 aces to seven serve errors and netting eight points more than Idaho from off serves. "I was really happy on our performance from the service line," Houk said. "We were able to control a lot of the flow of the match with the serve."
Lauren Lindseth (four), Siebler (three), Heidemann (three) and Nellie Stevenson (two) served multiple aces, with Jourdain Kamps adding one. Lindseth (23) and Siebler led the Bobcats in digs, while Kamps and Jordan Radick each logged three block assists.
