The match featured 41 ties and 18 lead changes over two hours and 28-minutes of action.
A pesky Northern Arizona defense coupled with Montana State hitting miscues resulted in a 26-28, 27-25, 25-19, 25-19 victory for the Lumberjacks on Saturday night in the Rolle Activity Center.
Montana State (6-13, 4-4) was the aggressor in the opening set outhitting Northern Arizona (9-9, 2-5) .271 to .169, but the Bobcats had to hold off a late NAU rally as the Lumberjacks fought off four set points before two ball-handling blunders gave MSU the opening frame.
The Bobcats held a late 24-20 advantage in set two, but again the Lumberjacks rallied fighting off four set points to even the contest. Tied at 25-all, back-to-back hitting errors by MSU completed NAU's comeback.
The final two sets saw Northern Arizona pull away at the midway mark. NAU used a 9-3 run to close out the third set, and a 7-1 run to take the match.
After posting 21 kills in the opening set, Montana State had a hard time terminating in the final three frames recording 32 kills (10.7 kps) while registering a .092 attack mark. MSU's 27 hitting errors were its third highest total of the season.

Offensively, MSU was led by Madilyn Siebler with 14 kills, while Jourdain Kamps and Camryn Greenwald added nine apiece. Siebler also added a team-high three service aces.
Defensively, junior libero Lauren Lindseth recorded a match-high 30 digs. It marked the second time this season Lindseth has gone over the 30-dig plateau. The former Great Falls CMR standout had a season-best 32 saves at South Dakota earlier this season.
Also registering double-digit digs were Siebler 18, Courtney Weatherby 16, and Nellie Stevenson 10. Siebler's double-double was her ninth of the season, which is tops on the squad. Kamps paced MSU with a team-high five blocks.
