“Carroll College is an outstanding program,” said MSU head coach Tricia Binford, who is entering her 19th season with the Bobcats. “Coach Sayers has built a strong tradition of success. She is very familiar with our program as are some of their players who we have competed against.”
The Montana State women's basketball squad will play its second exhibition game of the young season when it travels to Helena on Saturday to face Carroll College at 7 p.m. in the Carroll College PE Center as part of its 50 Years of Women's Basketball celebration.
The Saints, who went 27-6 overall and 14-1 in Frontier Conference play last winter, enter this season ranked No. 6 in the NAIA poll. Carroll College has played two games to date, dropping a 62-60 decision to No. 4 Indiana Wesleyan, before rebounding with a 64-54 victory over Whitworth on Monday night.
Carroll's starting line-up features Jamie Pickens, who started her collegiate career at Montana, before making the move to Helena. Pickens, a Helena native, garnered First Team NAIA All-America recognition last season after averaging 17.6 points and 7.7 rebounds per game.

MSU is coming off a 70-39 win over Lewis-Clark State last Saturday afternoon. The Bobcats were sparked in the exhibition game by senior Lexi Deden who posted 22 points and 14 rebounds.
"We're one step closer to the start of the regular season," Binford said. "Our game against Carroll College will be a good test before we open with BYU on Tuesday morning."
There will be no live streaming of the game from the Carroll College PE Center on Saturday night.
