Montana State returns six players from last year's team that went 25-10 and won their second consecutive Big Sky Tournament championship on the way to making their second straight NCAA Tournament appearance. The Bobcats also welcome seven transfers and three freshmen to Bozeman.
First-year head coach Matt Logie takes the reigns of the program after building a powerhouse at Point Loma, where he rolled up an 82-23 record over four seasons. Logie's 276-58 career mark in 12 seasons is good for an .826 winning percentage, third-best among active coaches at four-year schools and the third-highest winning percentage in the history of all NCAA men's college basketball coaches.
This season, Montana State will face eight teams in the non-conference that finished with winning records in 2022-2023, including four that won 20 or more games. The Bobcats will play 17 games at Worthington Arena, where the Bobcats have gone 25-2 over the last two seasons.
Montana State has played in three straight Big Sky Tournament championship games, gone 37-7 against Big Sky opponents over the last two seasons, won at least 25 games in two straight seasons for the first time since 1927-1929, and are coming off consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances for the first time in school history.
